Marilyn Eger: Oil Painting Materials List

For the oil portrait class, please tone your canvas board with a mid-tone flesh color. I will provide a piece of tracing paper to transfer your picture to the canvas panel. I am hoping that students will have their drawing on the toned canvas panel when the class starts. If you are an intermediate student and draw well you can disregard the tracing paper and draw your image on the canvas panel with burnt siena paint thinned with liquin or turpenoid. Corrections are easy with a rag & some turpenoid. The tracing paper will be at the Lodi Community Art Center. You provide your own canvas & materials.

For the Floral and landscape classes bring a canvas, size of your liking, toned with a warm color. In the floral class you may work from direct observation or a floral photo. I will have some to choose from if you do not have any and do not want to paint the floral provided.
